Had a wonderful Shabbat! Went to a sfardi shul to daven last night cuz we ate a a sfardi family for dinner was an experience and again got to shul early this morning and ate a a really nice family for lunch!
After davening they have a kiddush that they call a "bracha" we met a bunch of people from the community..everyone is just so nice.( i know, i know i keep saying that)
Inviting us for meals,making sure we have everything we need!
We have 3 official "adopted families" not sure exactly what they do specifically just because everyone seems to be like a family to us! Just warm people its sooo great!

week #1
First week in CT coming to an end!
I don't think i have ever seen anything so beautiful EVER! Every direction you turn is prettier than the first =)
The weather here is crazy. They say that if you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes...and its true- everyday goes from hot to cold to rainy to cold again.. its nuts!
Yom kippur was very nice, was in shul by 8:10 which is crazy for me i think that was the first time i was ever there for EVERYTHING! was very nice actually! missed being in shul with Abbas davening and standing next to Mommy and my sisters but was still a nice davening!
Everyone here is just so nice! so far we have been having meeting with people that we will be working with this year (still don't know names and what i will be doing ;-)) and today we DROVE! Other side of the road and everything! even in the rain! was an experience...we are getting used to the roads and directions and stuff like that!
Today after our meeting at the Jewish agency we went to a cheese factory.. missed my Abba!
That is basically it...there is a store here called pick and pay which is very much like old navy so i am happy! and there is pineapple and blueberries so so far so good =)
Shabbat we are eating out both meals, of course! Haven't even had dinner at home yet people keep inviting us out and then chag we are in the next town over...

Arrival
My first time writing a blog! very exciting =) i really wanted to be able to keep family and friends updated in what is going on this year and decided this was the best way. I apologize ahead of time, me and spelling aren't the bestest of friends. Thank you spell check but just in case... i wanted to put that out on the table!!Anyways, I arrived in Joburg on Thursday. Got to stop by the edelmans and say hi which was very nice!!!So funny to see family in South Africa of all places =)
Got to Cape Town today, unfortunately its raining and cold so i havent yet seen the beauty that everyone has talked about so hopefully tomorrow it will clear up!
Got setteled in, hung up pictures and unpacked. The house is HUGE...it is the house for bnei akiva so its really big and there are 2 big rooms upstairs for me and Shani (my friend with me)
People here are so so nice. Everyone that came over said that they live close and would love to help out if we need anything and whoever didn't come texted or called. Such nice caring people its exciting to get welcomed like that.
Well its really late and i need to get up and start my first full day tomorrow so that's it for now. I will write when i can!!
